Flapping that it’s February already and you’ve done approximately none of those things you promised yourself you would?! Stop beating yourself up about it – I have a solution!
Let me introduce my bloody amazing VA, Lizzie of Lizzie Cheeld Creative Admin (and she of the glorious kittens!). She takes all the stuff I’m terrible at (emails, bookkeeping, organising files, actually anything admin-ish – I can’t believe I worked in admin for so long when I’m so rubbish at it!) and transforms it magically into competent calm from my chaos.
It took me ages to let go of my stuff and to feel ready to have a VA – but ohmygod, she is the best decision I’ve ever made for my businesses! It felt like something only “big”, “successful” or “proper” businesses have. But I was so fed up of wearing all the hats, and she is so good at what she does that it’s actually been a really easy transition. I’m still hanging onto my emails, just, but would love to hand over the standard responses once I get my own control freakery under control…

- Tea. Tea fixes everything.
- Call, email or even better write to that friend you’ve been thinking about for ages but haven’t contacted. They’ll be delighted and I promise it won’t be awkward.
- Finally throw out that one garment which doesn’t fit you, is the wrong colour/shape/size, or that you’re only keeping because someone gave it to you and you feel bad. Release the guilt. Feel liberated.
- Get your filing in order and your receipts ready for April’s tax return. Makes you want to cry just thinking about it? Time to give Lizzie a shout…
